What is MBSR?
The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD. MBSR is being taught around the world and has been scientifically shown to be an effective way of treating a wide variety of medical and psychological conditions including anxiety, chronic pain, hyper tension, stress, sleep disorders. MBSR takes place over 8 weeks, each class is 2.5 hrs, there is also an all-day retreat held between class 6 and 7. Over the period of 8 weeks you learn to become aware of your patterns of behavior and ways of relating to yourself that lead to suffering, you develop an attitude of curiosity and interest that help you respond in a way that is more accepting and non-judgemental alleviating stress and anxiety and moving you towards wellbeing.
